About the Early Career Conference Award (ECCA)

The Čoskoro Kariéra Conference Award (ECCA) bola založená v roku 2007. Účelom ocenenie je poskytnúť príležitosť pre tých, na začiatku svojej kariéry, aby sa zúčastnili SLA výročnej konferencii, a ťažiť z príležitostí, ktoré sietí SLA a SLA Europe poskytne.

The Early Career Conference Award is administered by the Early Careers and Awards Committee and is open to individuals within the profession with less than five years experience.

Previous Winners

2020 – Virtual

Pre 2020 Konferencia, we liaised with the Legal Division, Science and Technology Division, as well as the Leadership and Management Development (LMD) to offer three ECCA awards.

2019 – Cleveland

Catherine Jenkins is co-sponsored by the Legal Division. Catherine is a Health Literacy Project Manager embedded in NHS library and knowledge services. She runs information drop-ins at public libraries and is passionate about access to research. She is currently studying part-time on the MSc Information Science course at City, University of London. Prior to joining the NHS she worked in open access publishing with a focus on Creative Commons licensing and compliance with funder policies in metadata and on the printed page. Her professional interests include the ethics of open access business models and the representation of minority languages in knowledge organisation systems.

2018 – Baltimore,en

Eleanor Matthewson is co-sponsored by the Legal Division. Eleanor is a Legal and Business Research Officer at global law firm HFW. She has responsibility for the firm’s global information training programme, which includes organising and delivering training sessions and the creation and development of the library’s online training and guidance modules and documentation. Eleanor completed her MA at UCL before joining HFW in 2016 and has previously worked at Norton Rose Fulbright and Central Saint Martin’s. Bethany Sherwood is co-sponsored by the Academic Division. Bethany is currently studying part-time for the Information Science MSc at City, University of London, and works as a Library Assistant at the English Faculty Library, University of Cambridge. 2017 – Phoenix

Amy Stubbing is co-sponsored by the Academic Division. Amy is the Customer Care (Collections) Coordinator at Royal Holloway University, which combines two significant interests for her in the field: collection management and user engagement. She recently graduated from Robert Gordon University with an MSc in Library and Information Studies after studying via distance learning while working at the London Library and Hurstpierpoint College library respectively. Amy has a strong background in policy development, Výučba, and raising awareness in the care system which has fed into her work as a librarian. Ruth MacMullen is co-sponsored by the Legal Division. Ruth is the Copyright & Licences Officer at York St John University. She completed her MA Information and Library Management in September 2012, and is currently studying for an LLM in Intellectual Property Law at The University of Edinburgh. Her professional interests include rights and reuse of copyright material, accessibility and access to information, and scholarly communications publishing and licensing. She is a member of the Libraries and Archives Copyright Alliance, and the Universities UK Copyright Working Group. Ruth’s reflections on the conference were also posted to the SLA Europe blog.

2016 – Philadelphie

Helen Monagle is co-sponsored by the Academic Division. Helen is a Serials Librarian at Manchester Metropolitan University. She successfully completed Chartership in July 2015 and graduated with a master’s degree in Library and Information Management from Manchester Metropolitan University. Helen’s interests include cataloguing, UX, facilitating access to e-resources, statistics and development opportunities for new professionals. She is one of the co-founders of NLPN, a network for new and aspiring library professionals. Helen’s reflections on the SLA conference were posted to the SLA Europe blog.

Helen Doyle is co-sponsored by the Legal Division. Helen obtained her undergraduate degree in Classics from Cambridge University in 2008 before working as a graduate trainee at Lincoln’s Inn. She then received an MA in Librarianship and Information Studies from UCL in September 2011, whilst undertaking Library Assistant work at Inner Temple. She joined the Library and Information Services team at Norton Rose Fulbright as an Information Officer in March 2013. Helen also has an interest in cataloguing. She has been Treasurer of CILIP’s Catalogue & Index Group for three years and combined this with her interest in law at the 2015 BIALL konferencie, where she gave a paper on the latest cataloguing standards and their application to law libraries. Matthias Ammon is co-sponsored by the Science-Technology Division and receives the Diane K. Foster Memorial Award. Matthias is a Library Services Administrator in the Department of Engineering at the University of Cambridge, having previously worked in several other libraries across the University and as a school librarian. He is currently studying for an MA in Information and Library Studies via distance learning at Aberystwyth University.

2015 – Boston

Penny Andrews je aktivista, spisovateľ, umelec (Rádio 4, Glastonbury), hudobník (Rádio 1, Zemepisná šírka, Bezdrôtový), producent a gadget šialenec. V súčasnej dobe pracuje ako knižnica stážistov na Leeds Metropolitan University. Ona je knižnica Camp organizátor, Národná autistické spoločnosť Ambassador, a mozgová obrna Sprinter. Lizzie Caperon je subjekt knihovník Leeds University zapojení do výučby informačnej gramotnosti, vývoj online tutoriály, riadenie zberu a spolupráca s akademickými pracoviskami. Laura Williams pracovala ako profesionálna informácií v odvetví médií, pretože absolvovaní Sheffield University v roku 2011 s MA v knihovníctva. Laura pracovala v knižnici médií na ITV ako mediálny logistiky koordinátora zodpovedného za poskytovanie obsahu programu na pásku cez organizáciu pre vysielanie. 2012 - Chicago

Simon Barron vyštudoval Manchester Metropolitan University v 2010 s MA v knižnici a Information Management. Po práci Nord Anglia vzdelávanie ako asistent knihovník knižnice armád nadácie akadémie pre Junior Soldiers, Simon sa ujal role E-zdroje Co-koordinátor na Durham University Library. Simon bol čo-podporovaný Science-Technology Division (Diane K Foster International Student Travel Award)

Marie Cannon je v súčasnej dobe zapísaný na knižnici MA informačných štúdií a štúdia na University College v Londýne, a funguje ako knižnica asistent na London Business School. Prior k tomuto, Marie pracovala ako postgraduálne Library Assistant v Norton Rose LLP. Marie bola podporovaná právneho oddelenia (podporované Jones McClure).

Ruth Jenkins je v súčasnej dobe zapísaný v kurze knihovníctva MA na univerzite v Sheffielde, po postgraduálne stáž na Bodleian Social Science Library na univerzite v Oxforde. Ruth tiež pracoval ako asistent knižnice vo verejnej knižnici a Devon School Library Service. Ruth bola podporovaná Business a Financie divízie.

Giles Lloyd-Brown je Senior knižničný asistent na Cardiff University Health knižnice. Vyštudoval University of Aberystwyth v 2012 s MScEcon v informačných štúdií a knihovníctva, , Kde je jeho práca bola na vplyve web 2.0 na akademickej knižnice OPAC. Sarah Wolfenden vyštudoval University College v Londýne s MA v knihovníctva a informačných štúdií v 2008. Od tej doby, pôsobila ako vysokého školstva poradca na Kingston College, dohliada na fungovanie, o vysokých školách centra, ktoré je ideálne pre približne 1800 študenti. Chris vyštudoval University College London v 2009 s MA v informačných štúdií, a v súčasnej dobe začala doktorát na Kingovho vysokoškolského Londýna. Natalia Madjarevic vyštudoval University College London v 2009 s MA v knihovníctva a informačných štúdií. Prior k tomuto, Natalia urobil stáže v The Guardian & Observer Research a informačné oddelenie. V súčasnej dobe pracuje na Queen Mary University of London ako informácie Assistant - elektronické služby. Natalia bola podporovaná Business & Financie Division.

Ned Potter práce v oblasti digitalizácie na univerzite v Leedsi. Ned vyštudoval na University of Northumbria v 2009 s MSc v odbore informačných a knižničných riadenie. Ned je odborne veľmi aktívny, a je zakladateľom LIS New Professionals siete (LISNPN). Ned bol čo-podporovaný vedenie & Management divízie.

Samuel Wiggins je v súčasnej dobe zapísaný v kurze knihovníctva MA na univerzite v Sheffielde, kde plánuje napísať dizertačnej práce na tému "vplyv Pay-steny a meniace sa obchodné modely informačného manažmentu v právnych firmách". Pred začatím jeho MA, Samuel bol absolvent trainee v Norton Rose LLP. Samuel bol čo-sponzorovaná ani právne oddelenie.
