Brunel’s London – SLA Europe cruise and walk
Enjoy a leisurely evening cruise providing a unique perspective of familiar sites along the Thames with tour guide Maribeth Eisenmann.
About this event
A self-professed “Brunel geek”, Maribeth will explain how three generations of Brunel engineers changed London and the world and why Jeremy Clarkson may have been at least partially right about something!
It’s not all about bridges, tunnels and ships, from cathedrals to Shakespeare to Tsars, the river has so many tales to tell.
After nearly an hour on the boat, we disembark on the Isle of Dogs to see where the world’s first luxury cruise liner was built and enjoy a short walk along the river to a unique vista point of Greenwich.
Our tour ends near Island Gardens DLR and the Greenwich foot tunnel, and we will head from there to a nearby pub for drinks/dinner.
Free for SLA members
Non-members: £5.00 (plus a £0.98 fee)
