Struggle or Success? A glimpse into the history of some of London’s diverse communities and personalities
We are excited to have popular tour guide Kirstie Shedden return to lead us on a walk through Soho and Covent Garden – free for SLA Europe members!
Throughout history, London has attracted settlers and visitors from all parts of the world. The capital, for many decades the largest in the world, offered work, a refuge from persecution as well as intellectual and cultural pursuits to be enjoyed or promoted. Our walk will take us through parts of Soho and Covent Garden to see the places where some of those who came, lived or worked. As we go back in time to earlier centuries, we will hear the stories of their struggles and successes.
Timings: Please arrive in time for a prompt start at 6:30pm. The walk will end at about 8:15-8:30pm so you may wish to grab a sandwich beforehand.
Weather: The walk will run whatever the weather so please dress accordingly.
