Introduction

Founded in 1972, SLA Europe is one of 55 regional communities of the Special Libraries Association.

We are a thriving network of information professionals and organisations, representing all sectors and areas of the profession, across Europe to share and benefit from each others’ knowledge, thoughts, and experience. We offer and regularly organise a wide range of networking events, professional development sessions, talks by leading industry experts and awards to support attendance at various conferences hosted by SLA.

Join us and be part of #OneSLA

You can join SLA Europe quickly and effortlessly via the online form, which also will list the current annual membership rates (dues).

In 2020, SLA announced  #OneSLA which introduced Communities to replace the previously established chapters, divisions, sections, and caucuses.

Existing and new members can now join as many Communities as they like with their active membership – there is no limit on region or area.

You can also update your information or renew your membership, at any time, on the main SLA website. SLA HQ will contact you by email and post when your renewal is near, but as your regional Community, we can also assist with any queries or issues you may have.
