Last week SLA Europe, in association with TFPL and Freepint, held an evening of networking drinks.
Around 60 people converged on the glamorous downstairs bar at Patch for the event. It was great to see so many SLA Europe members and those thinking about joining coming together for an evening of good conversation, food and wine. We are very grateful to TFPL and Freepint whose sponsorship enabled the event to go ahead.
TFPL have written about the event, as has Uncooked Data.
We hear that some did not leave until 11pm – a definite measure of success for the evening.
Participants were primed for conversation by having two topics of conversation on their name badge – one work related, one not. This was a great idea and allowed strangers an easy way to introduce themselves to one another. It was obvious from the level of noise in the room that people had come prepared to talk and we hope that the event fostered new connections and strengthened old bonds. If you missed out, you can see photos of the event on our Flickr page. Virginia Henry also kindly recorded some Vox Pops from attendees – so if you’ve never been to an SLA event, listen and find out what others made of the evening.
If you thought this event looked interesting but couldn’t make it, there will be other opportunities during the rest of the year. Details of upcoming events will be posted on the blog when available.
