Last week was our summer networking event at Nomura’s London headquarters on the bank of River Thames. It was a lovely way to spend a summer evening – raining of course, but the sun did come out long enough to enjoy the views from Nomura’s Roof Terrace!
Darron Chapman, SLA Europe’s President, provided a very entertaining speech which set the tone for a wonderful evening. It was wonderful to welcome so many of SLA Europe’s members to this event, including some who had travelled over from France to attend.
The buzz of conversations between info pros from many diverse backgrounds covered topics as wide-ranging as Client ID and Know-Your-Customer (KYC) issues; SharePoint; Barclays; redundancies in the industry; and competitive intelligence.
We were also glad to welcome several of our 2012 award winners to the event – a perfect opportunity to introduce them to SLA Europe ahead of the conference in Chicago.
The event was sponsored by the Financial Times, Integreon and 7Side. Our thanks also go to Nomura for providing us with access to such lovely premises. Massive thanks also go to Sam Wiggins on the SLAE events committee for his incredible organisational skills.
There are many more photos taken on the evening, available on our Flickr page. Many thanks to John Knights for his professional skills on the evening, and also to SLAE member Seema Rampersad for contributing her photos.

Fantastic photos and a great venue. Very envious – my hotel in Glasgow wasn’t a patch on the Nomura rooftop. Sue
