The UK Web Archive is a partnership between the six UK Legal Deposit Libraries. They are the British Library, the National Library of Scotland, the National Library of Wales, Bodleian Libraries, the University of Cambridge Library and the Library of Trinity College Dublin. The UK Web Archive aims to archive, preserve and give access to the archived UK web space.
We’re delighted to welcome two guest speakers from the British Library – Nicola Bingham, Lead Curator of Web Archiving in the Department of Collections and Helena Byrne, Curator of Web Archives. This event will delve into the UK Web Archive’s history, curation practices, access and potential research use cases. Attendees will gain an understanding of the scale and context of the UK Web Archive collection, develop a more nuanced understanding of the issues around web archiving, and learn about the variety of projects that the UK Web Archive are involved in.
