We delighted to share that our President, Amy Stubbing, recently attended the 2021 ARLIS / UK & Ireland Conference as a panellist for the final session, The Future of (Art) Libraries.
The ARLIS Conference ran from 21 to 23 July and this year’s theme focused on ‘Reframing Art Libraries – from Challenge to Opportunity‘.
The panel discussion was chaired by Jane Bramwell, outgoing Chair of ARLIS/UK & Ireland, in conversation with Amy as well as fellow panelists, as key leaders in the field of art libraries:
- Marilyn Clarke, Director of Library Services, Goldsmiths, University of London
- Pat Christie, former Director of Libraries and Academic Services, University of the Arts London
- Amy Trendler, past President of ARLIS/NA
We have invited a panel of key leaders in the field of art libraries , each of whom focus on a theme that is relevant to their particular experience and expertise, along with issues that emerge during the conference, and there will also be an opportunity to discuss questions from delegates.
Amy shared the following message after the session:
Had the absolute privileged today of speaking on a panel for #ARLIS on the future of art libraries (in my capacity as SLA Europe president) alongside Marilyn Clarke, Pat Christie, and Amy Trendler.
It was great to be able to share ideas and gain new perspectives and to be able to represent SLA and share my perspective on cross sector sharing (and a bit about mental health too!)
