SLA Europe is delighted to end another year with an amazing array of events and webinars. We are now looking forward to planning various events for 2024. As our 2024 President Julia Bhojoo Sewell moves to take on the mantle from our 2023 President Shaun Kennedy, we are thrilled to announce our new President-Elect for 2024, Hilary Oakley.
Hilary has been an active member of SLA and SLA Europe for many years, most recently taking on the role of our Student and New Professionals Chair and leading last year’s Careers Day which was held jointly with BIALL and CLSIG. Hilary is the Academic Liaison Librarian for Social Sciences at the University of Sunderland and also the divisional committee representative for Higher Education (HE) for ARLG North East. Before joining Sunderland, she also worked for a professional body, a think tank, and a national library. Hilary is also a CILIP Mentor and a Specialist Member of the Institute of Customer Service.
